The effect of nuts in reducing cancer
The articles below describe the benefits of eating nuts. The problem I have noticed is the writers of these articles are assuming the nuts we eat are fresh off the tree. The shelled nuts I have seen in the store are poor quality, they are old and rancid or an inferior nut to began with. Only fresh quality nuts will have the nutrients that are necessary to keep us healthy.
I have spent my entire life working around walnuts and almonds. I have also bought and sold many of the other nuts for over 40 years. I always strive to buy the best nut possible so my customers will have the healthiest nut to eat. Many of our customers tell us once they taste our nuts they will never buy nuts from a store. Try them for yourself and see what a fresh nut tastes like.

I was diagnosed with colon cancer in July of 2016. Since that time I have researched what I should be eating to help overcome the cancer. Below is some of what I have found. Let me know what you think.

Important facts on storing all nuts.
A. All nuts must be stored in a freezer below 10 degrees.
B. A ziplock bag and the bags that the nuts come in when bought from a store, are not sufficient for proper storage.
C. To keep the freshness the nuts must be stored in a special barrier bag to maintain their freshness. Like the ones we use.

Walnut Health Benefits
1. Walnuts-Anti-Cancer Benefits
Given the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory nutrients found in walnuts, it's not surprising to see research showing measurable anticancer benefits. The antioxidant properties of walnuts help lower risk of chronic oxidative stress, and the anti-inflammatory properties help lower risk of chronic inflammation, and it is precisely these two types of risk, when combined, pose the greatest threat for cancer development. Prostate cancer and breast cancer are the best-studied types of cancer with respect to walnut intake, and their risk has been found to be reduced by fairly large amounts of walnut consumption. (approximately 3 ounces per day.) For prostate cancer, the evidence is somewhat stronger, and more studies have involved human subjects.
2. Reduce Risk of Breast Cancer
Marshall University researchers found that eating walnuts every day seemed to halve the risk of mice developing breast cancer. Their findings, published in the journal Nutrition, showed that even in mice fed walnuts that did develop cancer, their tumors were smaller and fewer.
3. Chock Full Of Antioxidants
Walnuts beat all the rest when it comes to maintaining a healthy ticker, according to a study presented last year, researchers from the University of Scranton, which found that walnuts have more antioxidants than other nuts like cashews, hazelnuts, pecans and pistachios. "This study tells us something important about the composition of walnuts

Their research was published in Cancer Letters.
Eating about 23 almonds a day is an easy way to incorporate many crucial nutrients into your diet. Almonds are rich in vitamin E, calcium, magnesium and potassium. Additionally, almonds are a significant source of protein and fiber, while being naturally low in sugar. One 23-almond serving packs 13 grams of healthy unsaturated fats, 1 gram of saturated fat and no cholesterol or salt. Of all tree nuts, almonds rank highest in protein, fiber, calcium, vitamin E, riboflavin and niacin content by weight. There are 160 calories in 23 almonds.
